Hey, race fans! In my last post, I talked about my great trip to Hawkeye, Iowa. It’s unfair to compare an “open house event” to attending the INS Classic golf outing. This year, it was actually a day with no rain, which is unusual for this annual event.
I normally arrive early for this event, park the car, visit with a few employees and golf. This year things were slightly different. I did not golf. Why, you ask? Well, two weeks earlier I attempted a stupid human trick – I tried walking through a fixed object with my bare left foot. I broke my little toe and severely bruised two others on my left foot. I could barely get my golf shoes on, let alone walk in them. Just pushing in the clutch pedal on the truck or pushing the brake pedal on the INS Dragster was a chore.
I arrived at Otter Creek Golf Course and unloaded the INS Dragster. I had a great day talking to a lot of new people and seeing past acquaintances as well as the regulars. There was plenty of sunshine, great food and of course the refreshments weren’t bad either. Thanks to the INS standbys that always help me load and unload at my appearances – Tim and Kent. Thanks INS for letting me be part of the 23rd annual INS Golf Outing – broken toe or not!
