Well folks, we finally did it. We have ignition. Now if we can just get everything else to come together we should be ready to make an attempt at racing Memorial Day weekend. It has really been a long and trying process to get the new INS dragster completed. I think everyone will appreciate the look of the new car as I sure do, but as they say, my opinion doesn’t count. We have a few so called “minor” issues to work out in the next few days, and I certainly hope they are minor.
When all is said and done, it’s really an unbelievable piece of equipment. I have always wondered in amazement how they ever stay together as well as they do. A lot of man made ingenuity goes in to these pieces of equipment, and for certain everything has to work to perfection in order for the race car to perform adequately. Then, of course, you have to hope the driver can hold up his or her end of the deal. And to think man can take a bunch of round tubing, some aluminum, a lot of wiring, solenoids, plumbing, motor, transmission, rear end, plus anything else you can think of and send it down the track. And if you were crazy enough (along with having the finances) build one of these things to go 330 MPH in a quarter mile. Unbelievable!!!
Have a great week everyone, and stay safe.
