Putting it All Together

Hello everyone. It has been a few days since the last update. For those of you that are interested, here is a brief overview of what has happened at Team INS Racing. Since we last spoke, the transmission has been returned and most of the components to the transmission have been completed. I have removed the existing motor, mainly because all the water lines, fuel lines, and electrical components have been finished. When the motor returns for final placement these components will be ready to install. The new seat belts have been installed, fire bottle installed and plumbed, front tires and wheels have been installed, and the new parachute is in place. We are waiting for the return of the rear gears, then once they are installed we can install the axles, brakes, and of course, the wheels. We are still waiting on several components, but they will not be installed until the motor is placed back in the chassis.

The body panels have not been sent to the painter as of yet. Why? Because “mother nature” has been so cruel to automobiles this winter, the body shop is still swamped. That of course is great for the automotive repair business, not necessarily good for the owners of the automobiles. We are hoping for the best. Our intake manifold has been finished and returned and ready to be bolted on the new motor. The new motor will be a 632 cubic inch motor, which isn’t a whole lot bigger than the 598 we ran the last two years. With significant changes and additions, including a new car, we should run quicker than we ever have run. We hope. That is it for now, and I hope everyone has a great week. Stay safe and stay tuned.
