Labor Day - Part Two

It was another day of great weather with a few more cars joining the race. The INS dragster again made three time runs all of which were relatively consistent. I believe we ran a 7.74, 7.77, and a 7.75. My reaction times were holding fairly well so we were hoping for a better Sunday.

Needless to say we started the first round dialing a 7.76 and running a 7.80. The car for some reason slowed significantly. I had a .015 reaction time to my opponents .050 RT. Because I missed my dial by .004 and he ran on his dial, I was not able to catch him. I lost by .022 seconds, concluding a very poor race weekend for the INS dragster. To add to the race weekend, my competition had a good day on Saturday and ended up bumping me from fifth in points all the way to seventh. So much for finishing in the top five.

We have one more race left at Earlville on Sunday, September 27th. We will be racing in the Quick Sixteen providing we can qualify. I am currently in second place and need to qualify in order to have any opportunity in placing at the top. We will be leaving for Topeka, KS on Thursday, September 17th. We are representing Tri-State Raceway as a team car racing on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in special Summit E.T. Finals. Hopefully we can do somewhat better.
