Labor Day - Part One

What a fabulous Labor Day weekend marking the end of summer. Everyone is back in school, and the race season is winding down. Saturday and Sunday found Tri-State Raceway having a large amount of race cars located on the grounds. We started the day with a time run of 7.78 at 171 mph. The reaction time was a slow .035. It seems like I always start a little slow after not racing for a couple weeks. We made two more time runs 7.77 and a 7.76 so it seemed like we were ready for the first round. My reaction times had come down to .018 and a .015 so I guess the car and driver were both ready.

In the first round my competition was also a dragster. We dialed a 7.76, ran a 7.76, had a .015 RT, and we still lost. The margin of victory was .011. The reason being my competition ran on his dial and had a .001 reaction time. That is one thousandth from red. What can one say but “good race”. Maybe things will be better tomorrow.
