This racing weekend started a little differently than normal, as we had an appearance in Jesup, IA with the INS dragster. We left Blairstown around 2:30 pm and, except for the 20 miles of road construction/detour that we encountered, arrived on time at Jesup. The telephone company people were friendly as has always been the case. A special thank you to Bob Venem at Farmers Mutual Telephone Company who escorted us in and out of town, as road construction was making it difficult to enter and/or leave the community. We remained until approximately 8:30 pm, loaded up, and headed for the track for the weekend. It continued to be very warm and muggy, but it is Iowa and it is July. We arrived around 10:00 pm, just in time to hit the shower, have a refreshment, and call it an evening.
